Do you have favourite music to Punt to? Are there songs which always remind you of certain meetings? Or do you listen to particular tracks prior to a meeting to “get you in the mood”?
When I started my Punting adventure I used to visit a particular establishment every two to three weeks for over a year. They always had a particular CD playing; the same one, every time. Needless to say I became very familiar with it and now I always associate any of those tracks with my meetings there. Indeed, when I was recently out for a meal with friends, to hear the same CD playing softly in the background meant my mind was most definitely elsewhere all evening.
I always used to listen to a particular playlist on my iPod before meetings to get me focused. It was particularly up tempo and when I hear it now, I can feel my pulse rising, even if I am not on my way to a meet!
Many ladies with have the radio on or iPod playing for background entertainment. I have lost count of the times certain tracks have come on during a poignant moments and thereafter always take on a whole new significance whenever I hear them.
A while ago, there was a thread on The Oldest Profession Forum (http://oldestprof.com) discussing what others enjoyed. Needless to say, it was a wide and varied selection.
Of course there are always songs which will never be the same again, due to things which happen in the confines of the bedroom. One such song for me is “The Flood” by Take That. Thank you to a certain lady for her own unique take on that one!
What music do you like to punt to? Soft? Pumping (no pun intended!)? Classical? I would love to hear your own Desert Island Frisks!
To get me in the mood while I’m getting ready I play my home made CD,
“Make this a night to Remember” Shalamar
“Tonight’s going to be a good night” Black eyed Peas.
“Dirty Cash” Stevie V
“Easy Money” Rickie Lee Jones
“December 63″ The Four Seasons.
And when I entertain anyone at home I always play my JOE “My name is Joe” and/or R Kelly “12 Play”
Chatting to one lady on the first occasion that we met, we discovered that we were both big fans of the band Electric Soft Parade, so their CDs became the soundtrack to subsequent meetings. Whenever I hear one of their songs now I always smile with fond memories of Tabitha.
